Mental Health First Response© (MHFR) Training: International and Latin America Versions
Mental Health First Response is a mental health crisis skills prevention and intervention workshop for adults and the general public who want to gain valuable skills in mental health concerns, suicide intervention, and prevention.
This training program will assist individuals to intervene with someone who may be experiencing a mental health crisis and/or other mental health conditions that may or may not be a crisis situation. MHFR model is also applicable in providing emotional support and peer support.
This training outline the 8 wellness dimensions of Emotional, Spiritual, Intellectual, Physical, Environmental, Financial, Occupational and Social wellness (SAMSHA, 2017). These dimensions are then utilized to determine the overall current emotional condition of the person. Participants will learn how to utilize this information to carry out the MHFR core skills of E.S.T.I.M.A.T.E. to assure that their clients obtain the best care necessary in a crisis or non-crisis situations. These core skills are translatable across the school, work, healthcare, and military environments.

MHFR is branching out to Latin America - Colombia, South America. Self-paced training is located at MHFR Training Website.
MHFR Philippines:
MHFR program has been conducted at the following schools, colleges and universities: De La Salle – College of St. Benilde, De La Salle Santiago Zobel School (once for the basic training and three times for the MHFR LTE), Poveda College, Polytechnic University of the Philippines (twice for the Basic training and once for the MHFR LTE), Central Philippine University, De La Salle University Manila, De La Salle – College of St. Benilde (2nd run), La Salle College Antipolo and the University of Mindanao.
Other MHFR executions outside of the schools, colleges and universities are as follows: Colab in Iloilo; twice in Cebu, City, Cagayan de Oro, Malate at Space 1851 and at City Garden Hotel in Makati, Malate, Manila (10/31/19) and Bohol, Philippines (10/26/19). Corporate training with Financial Time, Northern Trust, and Columbia Shipmanagement.
